Bearing Care & Maintenance Guide
Steel & Ceramic Bearings
Thank you for choosing SMNZ Bearings. Whether you're riding our Steel or Ceramic series, proper maintenance will ensure long-lasting performance and a smoother ride.
🔹 1. Regular Cleaning
Carefully remove the rubber shields (if applicable).
Soak bearings in isopropyl alcohol or a skate-specific cleaner.
Gently shake and let them dry completely before re-lubricating.
🔹 2. Lubrication
Apply 1–2 drops of bearing oil per bearing.
Do not use thick grease or industrial oils.
Ceramic bearings can be run dry for speed, but require more frequent cleaning if used this way.
🔹 3. Installation Tips
Avoid using excessive force when pressing bearings in or out of wheels.
Make sure bearings are clean before installing.
Avoid riding in wet, muddy or sandy conditions without shields.
🔹 4. Specific Notes
Steel Bearings
✅ Smoother ride with proper lube
⚠️ Prone to rust if exposed to water or left unmaintained
💧 Require lubrication more often
Ceramic Bearings
✅ Lighter, faster, and rust-resistant
💡 Ideal for high-performance skating
⚠️ Still need cleaning for maximum performance
✅ Pro Tips:
Clean and lube your bearings every 4–6 weeks, or more often if you ride in harsh conditions.
Always store your board in a dry place.
Want your bearings to last? Take care of them — they'll take care of your ride.
